Benefits of Bamboo
There are so many benefits of Bamboo textiles when comparing to other materials on the market. Here at Bamboo Haus we are very passionate about these benefits so we thought we would share them with you.
Did you know that Bamboo is one of the most sustainable fabrics on the planet? It takes a staggering 20,000 litres of water to produce 1kg of cotton, compared to just 90 litres to produce the same in Bamboo. Bamboo plantations also have a record CO2 consumption due to the amazing speed that bamboo can grow.
Bamboo is created with no harsh chemicals or pesticides. Therefore, bamboo fibre helps to assists with the management of allergies and irritations.
It is moisture-wicking meaning it naturally wicks (pulls) moisture away from your body. This is due to the porous structure of the fibre making it highly absorbent. Bamboo also has a unique anti-bacteria and bacteriostatic bio-agent ‘Bamboo Kun’. Bamboo kun is responsible for bamboo’s natural ability to repel bacteria, fungi and pests.
Bamboo fibre is thermo regulating. There are micro gaps in the Bamboo fibre so the material breathes better. This means you’ll get better ventilation because it traps cool air in summer and warm air in winter resulting in incredible sleep year-round. Combined with its anti-bacterial qualities, Bamboo’s highly porous structure also naturally repels odours.
Our Bamboo 300 thread count sheets are equivalent to the feel of 1,000 thread count cotton. It’s also stronger and softer to the touch than equivalent weighted materials.
